I will try and post from my iPad. I had the post all finished and told it to post and I lost it....well live and learn.
We are in Wauchula about 90 miles from home. We need to try a couple of items before needing out this summer. The first is important because if any of our grandchildren want to stay with us we need the aired to work. Amazing we read the directions and try to inflate it and golly gee, it works! we continue with directions and deflate it stills works and is so very easy to use. Basically power it up and power it down. So we now know the kids can stay with us if they want to.
The last item we must try out is the central vac system. Wow, how easy to clean the floors. Yes, it works and does a great job.
Tomorrow we head home. We have enjoyed our mini vacation here in the thriving metropolis of Wauchula. We have accomplished everything we wanted to do checking all items on the r.v. We will be ready to head out on vacation soon. Think we might head out in mid May which is really just around the corner.

Well today starts great. We hear the leaves from the live oak trees outside our front door dropping down. We make a pot of coffee and head outside to sit and enjoy the start of a lovely day. Tom makes our breakfast (cereal & fruit) and we sit outside to eat that.
Nancy plays on her new i-pad and starts reading her book. Tom takes snoozes and we visit with neighbors. Charley is having the time of her life....Mom and Dad walk her all the time. Nancy wants some games on her i-pad and Tom is loading them on for her.
Soon it will be cocktail time and then time for supper. We are putting things in new places in the motorhome and still trying to find what we did with others. Sure how all gets found and we have this ready by mid-May when we plan on heading out for the summer.
As most of you know, our daughter-in-law Amy (Michigan) is due the end of July and she is giving us our first grand-son. So we will be in Michigan for that event, then we will head out for Minnesota and the headwaters of the mighty Mississippi where we plan on traveling down that river.. the first part of our summer trip will be the east coast. So we have grand travel plans coming up. As we travel I will update this blog site, so stop back often to find out where we are and what we are doigng.

Today we left Estero for another shakedown trip. We are only going to Wauchula about 90 miles from home. We are at the Thousand Trails/NACO campgrounds. They are nice. When we arrived we unhooked the car and went around the campgrounds searching for the nicest space we could find. So we are at a fairly neat campsite. We spent a fair amount of time setting up before having lunch. After lunch we think we will try and find a branch of the bank we bank with. The nearest one is in Avon Park about 20 miles away. So off we go. Nancy forgot to take her camera and she missed out on some fantastic scenery along the way. Nice and quiet day.

Arrived home in Estero about 11:30 a.m. Had a real nice mini vacation. We now know that the shower works, the washer and dryer work and that we don't have any major problems with the r.v. Wow, what a nice thought.
We had a lovely campsite right on the banks of the river. We took Charley on a walk yesterday afternoon to the locks and watched a trawler go through the locks. Charley loved the walk, but seemed bored with the wait for the boat to make passage through the locks. She was really excited when we started to walk once again; heading back to the r.v.
Today we made it home before it started raining. Right now we have monsoon like rain and I don't think we will be grilling outside tonight.
Hope you all are having a wonderful time, and the weather is not to bad wherever you might be.

Wednesday was quite the day. We did manage to find new places to arrange the inside of the r.v. Today the trick is to remember where that was. Needless to say you must have lots of patience. But learning, that's the best thing.
We took the trash to the trash bin and Charley for another walk. She thought it was great, and had lots of fun running in front of us. It was cold this morning but we were toasty warm had the furnace turned on. I ran the washer and dryer this morning and they both work fine. Tom has managed to rearrange some of the things in the basement. So slowly things are getting done. Anyhow we are having a great time.
Tom will have to make a few things for us when we arrive back in Estero. We found we need a couple of extra shelves and then some drink holders near our favorite chairs. He will also make some adjustments to the lamp we bought for me to do needlework with. It will not fit where we had hope for it to be.
Charley thinks the furniture is for her. She gets a little upset when we place pillows on the furniture and gets "the look" for us to move it for her.
Tom met a guy who told him about a class Freightliner has and that it is really informative. He is bringing the info to us so that we can contact Freightliner and learn if that is what we want to do. It is in S. Carolina so it would not be out of the way for us to attend.

Well, our maiden voyage in the new R.V. What a treat. We packed the car yesterday and headed out to where the motorhome is stored. We jumped into the motorhome and towed the auto out to Ortona Locks on the Caloosahatchee River east of La Belle. We made it in record time, since Tom hasn't put very many miles on the rig, yet. No I have not driven this rig at all, yet. In due time I will try her out.
We unpacked the car and loaded things in the r.v. What fun that was. This morning we tried finding where we unloaded things at and are rearranging where we place items. We have found a couple of things we no longer need. And of course things we think we want.
The campground is really neat. We are right on the riverbank. It is a corp of engineers project and the locks are right outside our front door. What a wonderful sight we have. We can look out and see the boats going through the locks all day long. Across the river there are a few homes so at night we have the lights from them to illuminate the view. What a wonderful way for our first shakedown cruise in the new r.v.
We took a couple of photos of the outside yesterday afternoon. Maybe Tom can post them for me later.
We have had a few couples who want to see the inside of this r.v. so we have given tours out to others in the campground. Charley loves all the attention she is receiving from other campers. We need to take photos inside for you all to see, then Tom can post them. I am posting at the computer station on this r.v. We don't have an ove
Looks like this year we will be traveling all over again. Remember we will be in Michigan this summer for the birth of grandchild #6. We just hope for a healthy, happy baby.
If anyone wants to e-mail us you all know our address so, get busy and write. God bless and we hope to see you in our travels.

January 23, 2010 A saturday
Well, I guess I should change the setting to read 2010. Who would guess the 2009 season went so very fast. We have had people ask us why another RV? Well, I guess the better question would be Why not? But we thought about getting a second home and the thoughts of visiting just one place did not appeal to us. This way we have our second home weather it be Michigan, Maine or Washington. WE really enjoy traveling and this is just a great way to do it.
Our "shakedown" cruise is scheduled for February 9th at Ortona Locks in south Florida. The locks are a corp of Engineer project and are located about 8 miles east of LaBelle, FL. on thw south side of the Calussahatche River. All right I will begin the blog for 2010 then.
Thanks for visiting. Maybe we will just stop bye your area for a visit. Keep us informed where you are located. Happy travels.
